TRAKKA Akuna A2 motorhome, delivery April 2022
What is it about the A2 Conversion?
The ease of travel, set-up at camp. Go where and when I like, no need to book motels etc.
The interior design, layout. Quality of construction. Roller shutter type overhead doors. LED strip lighting. The layout where bed and dining table can be left set-up. Sliding fly screens to side and rear doors. All diesel powered cooktop, water and room heater.
Some other aspects that make this van great: The fridge being at a good working height not tucked under kitchen like other brands. Drawers to kitchen, not doors. Toasting bread on diesel cooktop, nothing does it better! On a more personal note is the visual appeal of the VW Crafter van, I think they look a lot better than Merc Sprinter. Crafter also has better instruments, controls, etc and a “normal” gear shift where it should be not on the steering column.
Where was your last trip to?
Trakka 50th at Glenworth Valley (unsealed dirt road access and grass camping with no power/water). Other trips have been on made roads with only dirt being some camp sites. Mostly try free or low cost camping with no power, water connection. Also occasionally do showgrounds. More recently home to Stuart Town via Gulgong, Wellington. Next day, Orange, Bathurst overnight at Lake Wallace, Wallarawang. Home via Rylston, Bylong. Love the diesel heater, temp down to -3° (feel like -5.6°) early hours camped at Lake Wallace. Toasty warm very quickly.
Upcoming Plans
LOTS!!! Hope to do SA, WA, VIC when time permits.
