While we’re all collectively experiencing this surreal and uncertain moment in time, TRAKKA HQ are opening up the conversation online. Some may not be able to visit our showroom right now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t bring the showroom to you.
Welcome to TRAKKA Chatter! This new series of informational ‘mini clips’ aims to answer some of your most commonly asked questions. From our Head of Design and Engineering to our GM, our team members are on hand to answer your questions. We have a list of queries we’re working through, but we want to hear from you too – tell us what you want to know more about. We’ll share these videos through our blog, Facebook and Instagram channels so you’ll be the first to know when the next episode goes live.
To get the ball rolling we’ve got Michael Lord, Trakka’s Head of Design on hand to answer a recently asked query around the quality of the benchtops and storage of dining tables found within our van-based motorhomes – specifically in the Torino, Akuna and Jabiru models.
While used frequently when you’re on the road, on first inspection the trusty dining table may not be obvious to most people; indeed, the folding coffee tables found within the four-seater variants or the kitchen benchtop extension in our mid wheelbase campers may not be either! We’ve been asked whether these vehicles even come with a table you can eat from! The short answer is yes; and while our video leaves you in the capable hands of Mike, here’s a little bit of extra info for you too.
SlimTec is the name we have given to all new 6mm thick bench and tabletops (10mm bathroom grate) found in our van-based motorhomes, and while Mike modestly mentions in Trakka Chatter that they’re pretty durable, we can attest that they’re incredibly durable, even more so than standard ply.
Of course, you can choose from our black with a slate textured finish, matte aluminum grey and bright white finishes to personalise your TRAKKA interior. And because the SlimTec material does not require edging, you’ll notice each tabletop has a really nice streamlined finish which is cut using the CNC like other materials.
Naturally storage space within your motorhome is key and a bulky table encroaching on your living space when not in use will not suffice! To set up, simply slide the table out from its secure storage and slot it onto the table leg (also with clever out of the way storage). It’s a win/win/win.
