How awesome is this ad from Overlander Magazine (December 1979)! We believe the Trakka Bronco was sketched by Robbi Newman. Robbi had completed the Strzelecki Track with Trakka founders, Dave & Sal Berry, in 1978.
Based on the Volkswagen T3 and despite being a 2WD, this poptop campervan was “built as though the rest of the industry did not exist. Built for Australia.”
This Trakka Bronco camper featured stiffer torsion bars sourced from the USA, Gabriel air shocks and radial BF Goodrich Trailmaker tyres.
You’ll find images of our Trakka Bronco on the Poler Stuff Facebook page and our Trakka Pinterest… Don’t worry we’ll have the 1978 “Overlander Camper Test” posted soon.
