Our Jabiru & Jabiru 4×4 rumbled into the outback.
The Jabiru owner and Trakka founder – Dave Berry – grew up with adventure running through his veins. Back then all he could do was breath outdoor adventure and not a lot has changed other than these days he no longer needs to borrow his dad’s camper, he’s got the keys to his very own…
Earlier this year he lived out his dream of freedom – travelling to parts of our great and diverse country. With his mate in tow in his own Jabiru 4×4 Xtra, they took the road less travelled from Condoblin to Cobar, White Cliffs and Tibooburra, beyond to Cameron’s Corner, Strzlecki Track, Birdsville (via Walkers Crossing) and Sturt Stony Desert; and boy, life looked tough.
Dave gave the DJI Phantom 3 Drone a run when their trip was nearing an end. Controlled from an iPad, the drone flew high capturing amazing #campvibes (both still and video footage) in various outback settings. Here you’ll find the Jabiru and Jabiru 4×4 motorhomes nestled next to the Towns River, Northern Territory – awnings out, windows and skylights open, Trakka camp chairs occupied. According to exploreaustralia.net.au this wild, remote and rugged park has bushwalking tracks, great bird watching and swimming. The park is some 300 km south-east of Katherine and 76 km north-west of Borroloola; a 4WD is required (Dave had no worries pushing the boundaries of his VW Crafter Jabiru 2WD and the Jabiru 4×4 found it to be a breeze).
We can’t wait to show you more footage of this trip. The sunsets will have you running to your motorhome and setting off for the Aussie outback in a hurry.
